$75,000.00
DESCRIPTION

A stunningly rare pair of 1830 Coahuila & Tejas decrees granting citizenship and allowing a manufacturing company to Jim Bowie by the Mexican Government.

Decree #159, dated October 5, 1830, grants citizenship James Bowie – so that he would be allowed to establish a cotton manufacturing company.  Extremely rare, there were only 13 issued and this is the only one known to be in private hands.

Decree #160, dated October 2, 1830, allows for a cotton manufacturing company – the Coahuila Manufacturing Company – to be established and was issued in conjunction with Decree 159 – a rare combination of two official decrees.

We have included photos of documentation with translations from the Spanish into English for reference. Please let us know if you are interested and would like to see more photos of the documents.
